Okay, so yesterday
cairistiona7 was nice enough to give me some tips on photo editing and point me toward pixlr.com, so I've been playing around to see what I can do with a few more of my photos from the zoo trip last week.
Thought I'd try out a b&w effect on this, since I don't think there's a good way to get the color looking good given the lighting.



Really wish I could've gotten a few pictures of these pretty butterflies against a better background, but they were fluttering their wings so quickly that this was the only good chance I had to catch them:

Also - happy Independence Day to all my American friends!

Date: 2016-07-05 04:23 pm (UTC)Heh, I have a terrible zoom on my phone, actually. I haven't found any way I can use it and have anything turn out 90% of the time. The butterflies were the most perfect situation for a noob photographer, though - the zoo has a gorgeous butterfly garden. So there were just a ton of them sitting and sunning themselves. They didn't much care about people, so as long as you didn't move too fast you could get up within a foot or two of them without disturbing them.
