Lookit! I got myself a writing progress meter!
Hehe, didn't do it earlier 'cause I kinda thought it'd wind up more depressing than motivating. But things are still moving along! I'm even ahead of schedule - a little. ^.^
And in the spirit of further motivating myself I have ordered the Prince of Egypt movie soundtrack. Because fun music is always inspirational, even if it has nothing whatsoever to do with what I'm writing. Plus, I found a copy of the CD in new condition from Alibris for six dollars - that's including shipping. Considering this is the same price as the Amazon download-only MP3 file, which might or might not work with my iPod? Oh yeah.
I have also ordered
rj_anderson's Wayfarer. I tend to be hesitant to buy hardcover copies of books unless I'm very sure that I'll like it (even then... usually wait for paperback), but I am sick of sitting around being frustrated by our library not having the books I want to read. So on
cirtholien's assurance that it's at least as good as the first book, I went ahead and got it. This'll be... either my end-of-NaNo relaxation, or my halfway point reward, depending on how the writing goes. *g*

Date: 2010-11-06 12:51 pm (UTC)MP3 downloads from Amazon work fine on the iPod--it's the TV shows and movies that don't. But all the same, hard copies win. Hee, it is funny how totally unrelated pieces of music can be so inspirational.... :D
You will LOVE Wayfarer, I just know it. And you must read it quickly so I can have someone else to squeal about it with. *vibrates with excitement* (Though naturally, not to the detriment of your productivity on NaNo.... :D)

Date: 2010-11-08 04:06 am (UTC)Heheh, yeah, I figured I'd probably be able to get the download to work if need be... but having the hard copy as well for the same price is definitely a no-brainer. *g*
I can't wait to get to it! LOL, it's bugging me that Barnes & Noble didn't send it UPS... I liiiiike being able to track my books every step of the way till they get here. *pouts* Oh well. One less thing to take up writing time? ;D
