why am i typing like this? because i'm only using one hand. why's that? because i dropped a glass bowl and cut both my hands. right one's just got a little nick, but it's taking a surprisingly long time to stop bleeding. cut on the left one's rather deep. i actually think i came within a millimeter of passing out. weirdest sensation... all the more so because i just do not react that way to blood or injury, mine or others'. but then, i hadn't eaten or drank anything yet today, so that probably contributed.

spent half an hour laying on the kitchen floor, getting the bleeding to stop and waiting to not be so dizzy. and being embarrassed because i was really not trying to be all melodramatic.

and then nef got all concerned because i started grinning. y'see i'd just remembered it's friday the 13th. ha.ha.

ow.

Heh, thanks. :) I am feeling better, now. My dad helped patch it up better, which helps (yay for a doctor in the family!), and I've figured out a way of typing using about one and a half hands. So I should live. *g* I may be taking a lot of tylenol over the next few days, though. :P

Ow ow ow ow!! And you nearly passed out besides?? Goodness, girl. I hope you're feeling better now, and that it heals quickly.

Thanks. :) Heh, yeah, I am doing better now. (And as you can see, I've discovered a way of typing!) It's in a rather bad spot, right at the base of my thumb, so it's hard to do a lot with my left hand without pulling on it. But my dad did a better job of patching it up when he got home last night, so that's definitely helping.

All I know is...if Cami is typing in all lower-case, something EARTHSHATTERING AND TERRIBLE must have happened. <:-0 (Ah, but you see, I wasn't that worried...she still has enough lifestrength left to keep her punctuation is in order. Whew!! *wipes brow* ;) ) More seriously...ow and wah! *huggles* Since you say it was a deep cut, could you possibly have touched a vein? Something about that...you don't have to be sensitive to the sight of blood or anything, things just go dark and woozy. When Abi gave blood a week or two ago, the nurse banged the vein in her arm with the needle and she nearly passed out...blagh, that's such a horrible, weird sensation. *hugs again* I hope it heals up quickly. :)

Heh heh, yep, that has been a family joke - if Cami ever sends you an e-mail that looks like that, you'll know she's had a major breakdown. So yes, it may have taken longer, but no proper punctuation... it was just too painful to bear. ;P But now, as you see, I have figured out how to type without using that side of my hand too much - so I'm doing better all around. *g* Huh, that is a thought, though - not sure just how deep it'd have to be to touch the vein, but I think the cut is right where one of the major ones for the hand would be. Fortunately, it appears it's going to be less dire than it first seemed, and Dad was able to patch it up better when he got home, which has definitely helped. :)

Friday the 13th seems to have hit a lot of people I know this year. I myself spent the day in the ER. ;P

I hope your hands heal quickly. Cuts are so painful. I hope you didn't need stitches! *hugs*

The ER? Oh no! I hope you're alright now... What happened? (I don't have the username for the new journal you were switching to, so if you said something there I didn't see it.)

Fortunately, I didn't need to get stitches. My dad was able to do a better job of patching things up once he got home, which helped a lot. (Blessings of having a doctor who keeps well stocked in medical supplies as a father!)

*hugs back*

I got tripped with a dryer hose at work. Sprained ankle and wrist and my back is very sore but not too bad thankfully. I should be back at work Monday. Whew!

Glad your dad was able to fix you up! I wish my sister were closer to me. She's a nurse. That could come in handy what with being accident prone. ;P

Oh, ouch. Sprains are nasty things... And you've already had plenty of physical woes as it is. :/ I certainly hope that you recover quickly. *hugs*
