Still alive!

Nope, haven't fallen off the edge of the earth - just a tad busy. Editing latest issue of teh magazine, Mom and Dad have been gone a few days celebrating their 25th anniversary, busy time for Eric's golf tournaments, and getting ready for Grandma coming in - eep, 'bout two weeks! Also, trying to write, but not succeeding very well. *pokes stories*
Not doing bad, though. We're thoroughly enjoying having a dock on the lake. Yay, lots of fishing! And we've got a whole bunch of torches to light the dock and path down by the lake. Going out there at night, through a yard just full of fireflies, to a lake lit up by flames and the moon, with so many bright stars in the sky... It's just so magical, I can still hardly believe we actually live here. :D
Hehe, and we now have a turtle living in the lake that'll come when called and eat out of our hands. Add one more to our Home for Confused Animals! XD It's so cuuute... Now we just need a name for it. I'm thinkin' maybe Fischel.... *g*
ETA: o.o While I am still enjoying the BBC Robin Hood TV series, there is one thing I will say. I would not recommend the series finale. Seriously. That is positively the most idiotic end to a Robin Hood story I have ever seen or heard of. I'm sorry, that is just not poetic or dramatic - that's stupid. Sometimes, I hate TV series writers. *goes off grumbling*

Date: 2009-07-11 04:09 am (UTC)LOL, I never imagined we would so easily train a turtle to come, either! It's quite fun, wondering what we might come across next, here. :D

And ohh...that really does sound absolutely beautiful. *happy sigh* There's something about that kind of tranquility, and then together with fireflies and torches and moonlight...mmm. (And oh, I wish I were there to see. *is still suffering from Post-Separation Trauma*)
ROTFL! A turtle named Fischel! *dies* I love it!
Eep...would this be the season 3 finale then? 'Cause I heard about that. And was all: O.O (In fact, I'd heard about it from another LJ friend before I was talking to y'all about it, and wasn't sure if you were up to that point yet, so.... :P) Anyway, yeah...I do intend to start watching that show very soon, but I'll keep that in mind regarding the ending. :P *growls* Sometimes, I really do wonder if some TV series writers actually understand their own show. *shakes head*

Date: 2009-07-11 06:50 pm (UTC)He! Apparently the poking worked - I do believe my writing has been jump-started again. *is happy*
Mmm, it is just wonderful, and so peaceful. You simply must come back and see, now that we've got things set up so nicely down there. And bring your family. *nods*
He! I so want to name it Fischel. Of course, considering some of the names Eric is stubbornly bringing up... *raises eyebrow* I've a feeling we may wind up in need of a compromise. Or perhaps the little thing will wind up with several names. Yes, pet names do tend to turn into drawn-out family debates around here. ;) But I still think Fischel would be perfect for the stubborn, dare-devil, crazy little thing. :D
Bleh, yeah, it'd be the season 3 finale. This is one of the few series where we've been just watching episodes here and there, rather than trying to see everything strictly in order - both because it can be challenging to find episodes that're available, and because... heh, we already have so many TV series we're really into, I've been attempting to keep it to merely a casual, light interest. *g* That ending is just... incomprehensible to me, though. Seriously. You just don't do that, not to Robin Hood, certainly not in this sort of series. Not original - infuriating. And... yes, I'm still very mad, and I've got a thorough rant worked up, but I'm trying to refrain from going on too much, lest I give away details you'd rather not know. ;)
Seriously. This is not the Dread Pirate Roberts, people. And at least he got a better ending. *snarls*
