...  when it's ten below zero outside, and yet somehow, in your confused little mind, the idea of putting on a coat just to go back and forth between parking lots and stores... doesn't seem worthwhile. So you just wear a sweater instead. And it turns out you're fine, actually. Also, when it warms aaaall the way up to negative one, and it actually does feel significantly warmer. Either that, or possibly I've just had enough time to become truly acclimated now?

Anywho - since we didn't make it to karate promotions last night, we had a private testing today. Not too bad, got two stripes... Our teacher says we really need to start sparring now, though. So. *gulps* I'm so totally gonna get beat up. *cringes*

And a police officer came to karate today. Not for class, but because I found his ID badge lying out in the snow, so we had to call and let him know where he could come get it. He was very relieved. LOL, yeah, not the kinda thing you want to lose, I'd imagine. *g* Ah, the great excitement and adventure in my life... Yes, I'm boring, I know. ;P

Started snowing like crazy again on our way home, and it's not showing any signs of letting up. Yays! *dances* We're gonna have a very white Christmas, it appears. ;D

Oh! And I started reading The Copyeditor's Handbook. Not very far into it yet, but already So. Very. Awesome. He! Reading books like this makes me so happy. *hugs it* So far the author seems to have both a whole lot of great down-to-earth common sense, and a fun sense of humor. And since the book comes very highly recommended, I have high hopes that it'll prove both useful and very interesting. *bouncy*

So, not a whole lot to say, just feeling like being random. :) Think I'm going to curl up with my electric blanket and do some more reading.

Yay, snow! If it's gonna come, it needs to come through Christmas. :D That's my only tolerance for the cold actually; it must come hand-in-hand with snow. Otherwise, go away. :P heehee

And wow...I thought a friend of mine was bad with no coat/no shoes in the winter. Sheesh.... lol

Hehe, well if it's gonna be that cold, it's really so much nicer if there's snow to go with it. Otherwise one just doesn't feel one is getting one's money's worth out of winter, so to speak. *bg* I hope you do wind up with a lovely white Christmas!

LOL. Well, sometimes it's just not worth all the bother, you know? What bugs my mom more is my tendency to go out to the pole barn or mailbox in that kind of weather in short sleeves and barefoot. I just don't like getting my slippers wet. ;P Hey, it makes sense to me...

You would probably think me quite the wimp, then, the way I get bundled to go out in our mere 28 degree weather. *g* But honestly...the idea of negative 10 is so beyond my comprehension. *boggles* I just can't imagine what cold like that would feel like. *is utterly Southern and would so totally die* In any case, I'm glad there are some brave souls willing to combat that degree of cold--nay, even enjoy it! ;D

That said, I'm really hoping for a white Christmas this year for us, since we've already had a smattering of snow, and that's unusual for this time of the year. It's very rare to have snow on Christmas around heah...generally, we just have white Februaries, and that's no fun at all. (For such a beastly month as Februaarry...twenty-eight days, as a rule, are pleeeeennty!)

Hehe, it was hilarious, on Sunday, during that really big storm, below zero temperatures, really windy, all that... we were watching the news, and they were interviewing people at a gas station. One guy was standing there, pumping gas - in shorts and sandals. XD Yep, you know you're in Minnesota... Does get interesting, at times, when the high temperatures for the day (or week) are negative numbers.

Oh, I hope you do get a white Christmas! LOL, not too white for y'all, but just white enough to make everything pretty and wintry. ;D It... kinda boggles my mind, to think of Christmas without plenty of snow. *g*

(*facepalm* And now I'm totally gonna have Pirates of Penzance running through my head for the rest of the day. *wanders off mumbling "Go ye heroes, go and DIE!"*)

White Christmas is one of the best things there is! :) We actually did get some wonderful snow here last week, but unfortunately it's gotten warmer since then, and now there's only rain and mud left. *scowls at weather* Not exactly my idea of romantic or Christmas-y.

Congrats on getting those stripes! LOL, I imagine that policeman must have been very happy that you found his badge! I bet the poor guy would have been in a lot of trouble otherwise. ;-)

White Christmases are so wonderful! It hardly seems quite right, otherwise. ;) Aw, yeah, it's not so great when the temperatures are fluctuating and the snow just gives way to lots of mud, though. Here's hoping you get at least a little more nice snow before Christmas!

Hehe, and thanks for the congratulations. :) Heh heh, yeah, I'm sure losing that badge could have caused a whole lot of problems for the poor guy... I'm glad we were able to get it back to him so easily!
