Wayfarer - is utterly awesome. Seriously. Anyone who has not read this (and the first one, Spell Hunter, naturally) needs to do so. I loved the first one greatly, but this one? Is utter win, and everything that a sequel should be. Definitely the perfect midway-point break to encourage me to keep going. (Well, that or send me into utter despair because I will never manage anything like that, but yeah. Let's go with encouragement, shall we? *g*) Shall be expounding upon its awesomeness in greater detail soon, but right now I need to save that energy for actual, er, writing. 'Cause I haven't done any today. (Tuesdays seem to be... not good for me.) Still, even so -
Is not bad, yes? ^.^
Also, while I'm here - got a few other character-related doodles done the other day, so I thought I'd put them up.
'Nother of the nastier sorts. Heheh, and this one did turn out rather cuter than he's supposed to be. Among other issues. Oh well. Gotta work on those not-so-nice-creature drawing skills.

And one of the good guys! My equine/deer-type leg drawing skillz are so fail it's not even funny. >.< But I've been looking up references and trying to improve that. So here's the sloppy, many-times-erased, oh-fine-good-enough-for-now version. *g*

And again, good guy. A kind of squirrelish type, gonna be loosely based, in appearance at least, on Indian giant squirrels, which are quite awesome-looking. (See? Aren't they? So pretty! I just love their tails and all the different colors! :D)

A wolf-fox type, semi-inspired by maned wolves.

Heh heh, this has reminded me that, though I've come some way in improving at drawing dragons, my other-creature-drawing-skills are generally in great need of improvement. I'm so used to doing dragon faces, particularly, that I have trouble distinguishing other creatures as distinctly canine, or feline, or rodent consistently. Keep wanting to gravitate back toward my more practiced dragonish defaults, or winding up with a not really recognizable mishmash. Hmm.
To work!
