I love it whenever I find Christian values shining through in books or other writing, without being preached. It's probably one reason why I've ended up in the LotR-fandom. ;-) I think the most important thing is living one's faith instead of talking about it or lecturing about it, that's what really reaches people's hearts or makes them curious. In my original work, I'm still battling to find a way to express what's really important to me in a natural, non-obtrusive way. When I started writing fantasy, it very much sounded like preaching and lecturing, mostly upon the topic of good and evil. *laughs*
Hm - looking at that book list and your favourites reminds me of something. Do you know that there's a great book where Sherlock Holmes has to face Dracula? I've borrowed it from a library once, but unfortunately I've forgotten both title and author. *headdesk* It's an old book, and the writing was great, worthy of Bram Stoker and Arthur Conan Doyle... I wish I could remember, I'd like to read it again.
